My submission was a painful defeat against a stronger player even though I got an advantage in the opening. I just could not figure out how to improve the position and eventually get down on time and blunder material - https://www.chess.com/game/live/146351449818?move=0

Do you prefer annotated or unannotated games?

It's nice to see your thoughts on the game, but unannotated is also ok.

I misplayed a lot in this game after my opponent played an odd mixture of a Chigorin with a kingside fianchetto. I had no idea what to do and I felt like my standard plans backfired spectacularly. The engine thinks I was ahead at some point but I never felt like I was. I literally only got a draw with seconds to spare due to a last second forced repetition they allowed.

Here's a submission for next week: https://www.chess.com/game/live/146397603374?move=0

I lost to a higher rated opponent, but if I had managed my time better there was an opportunity to win in the endgame.

Thanks for the review. I'll make Be5 into a flashcard. It was one of my candidate moves, but for very much the wrong reasons. Lots of good advice here. I didn't think about the value of 12...Na5 to target hanging pawns. Just to go after the bishop. But I would have had the same pressure on the c-file that I had intended, but without the weakening of the king. Maybe that's another flashcard.
