My illness has caused me to be out of commission quite a lot: First of all, I was constantly fatigued for almost a year. Then about a month of more severe illness, followed by a week in the hospital. And about a month of recovery after that. For all of that time, I wasn’t at full capacity.

We have various support systems in place. We’ve gone through several nannies and babysitters, and our grandparents help when they can. But truthfully, the brunt of it falls on my wife. When push comes to shove, she has to watch the kids when all else fails. And she still has quite a demanding career as well.

I know it’s not easy. I love you, babe!
